Various sulfide ores are known as iron pyrite or mineral pyrite. They are also called fool's gold because of their color which decieves new miners as it's gold. Pure iron pyrite has formula- FeS2. It's mainly found with metamorphic & sedimentary rock, various sulfides, coal deposits, mineral in fossils etc. They are obtained by mining, or recovered as by product in the refining of iron ore. These ores are one of the good sources of elemental sulphur and sulphuric acid.
sulphur is produced from pyrites with various methods of roasting like- roasting using shelf-type equipment, flash roasting, iluidization technique etc.
Amount of sulphur, produced from pyrites ore on a worldwide basis, is found sufficient.
